Countertop Installation in Las Vegas: From Template to Finished Kitchen

Countertop installation in Las Vegas costs $40 to $150 per square foot installed and takes 7 to 10 business days from the day we template your kitchen to the day your new stone is ready to use. At Night & Day Stone, we handle the entire process in-house: slab selection at our yard, laser-guided digital templating, CNC fabrication, and professional installation by crews who work in Las Vegas homes every day.

If you searched for countertop installation near me, here's what makes us different from the big-box route: we're a family-owned fabrication shop with 20+ years of stone experience, not a middleman who subcontracts your install to whoever is available. The people who template your kitchen, cut your slab, and set your countertops all work for the same family business at 2951 N Lamont St.

How Countertop Installation Works: The 3-Stage Process

Every project we install follows the same three stages. Knowing what happens at each one takes the mystery (and the stress) out of a kitchen remodel.

Stage 1: Digital Templating

After you've selected your slab at our yard, we visit your home with a Flexijet laser-guided templating system. It captures every wall angle, corner, curve, sink location, and appliance cutout to the millimeter. This digital template is the blueprint for everything that follows — it's why our seams are tight and our overhangs are even.

Cardboard templates, which some fabricators still use, flex and shift. Lasers don't. Templating takes about an hour for a typical kitchen, and your cabinets need to be fully installed and level before we arrive.

Stage 2: CNC Fabrication

Your digital template feeds directly into our CNC cutting machines. The slab you hand-picked is cut to your exact layout: sink cutout, cooktop cutout, faucet holes, and your chosen edge profile, all machined to digital specifications. Natural stone also gets its first coat of penetrating sealer in our shop, formulated for Las Vegas hard water at 278 ppm per the Las Vegas Valley Water District.

Fabrication is where most of the 7-10 day timeline is spent. Complex projects — waterfall islands, full-height backsplashes, book-matched veining — take longer than a straightforward L-shaped kitchen.

Stage 3: Installation Day

Our crew arrives with your finished pieces, sets them on your cabinets, levels everything, joins seams with color-matched epoxy, and secures the stone with adhesives rated for desert temperature swings. Most kitchen installations are complete in four to eight hours. Bathroom vanities usually take two to four.

What's Included in Our Installation Price

We quote what it costs, and the quote you approve is the price you pay. Every installation includes:

  • Slab selection — you walk our yard and tag the exact stone that becomes your countertop
  • Flexijet digital templating of your kitchen or bathroom
  • CNC fabrication with a standard edge profile (eased or beveled)
  • Professional installation — leveling, seaming, and securing
  • Initial sealing for Granite, Marble, and Quartzite
  • Cleanup — we haul away our debris and leave the workspace clean

Quoted separately, always up front: sink cutouts ($150-$300), upgraded edge profiles ($10-$30 per linear foot), backsplash fabrication, and removal and disposal of your old countertops ($200-$500).

Countertop Installation Cost in Las Vegas

The material you choose drives the price more than any other factor. Here's what installation costs across everything we fabricate:

MaterialCost Per Sq Ft (Installed)30 Sq Ft Kitchen50 Sq Ft Kitchen
Granite$40 - $100$1,200 - $3,000$2,000 - $5,000
Quartz$50 - $120$1,500 - $3,600$2,500 - $6,000
Marble$50 - $150$1,500 - $4,500$2,500 - $7,500
Quartzite$60 - $150$1,800 - $4,500$3,000 - $7,500
Porcelain$60 - $130$1,800 - $3,900$3,000 - $6,500
Soapstone$70 - $120$2,100 - $3,600$3,500 - $6,000

Within each material, the stone grade sets your position in the range. A Level 1 Granite runs $40-$55 per square foot installed, while an exotic Quartzite with dramatic veining can reach $150. When you visit our slab yard, we'll show you options at every price point — we've helped plenty of homeowners find Level 1 slabs that look like they cost twice as much.

Choosing Your Material Before Installation

Installation quality matters, but material selection is the decision you'll live with every day. Each stone behaves differently under Las Vegas heat, sun, and hard water:

  • Granite countertops ($40-$100/sqft) — the workhorse. Heat-proof, UV-stable, and the best value in natural stone. Needs sealing every 1-2 years.
  • Quartz countertops ($50-$120/sqft) — engineered and non-porous. Zero maintenance and immune to hard water, but keep it away from hot pans and direct sun.
  • Quartzite countertops ($60-$150/sqft) — the Marble look with better-than-Granite hardness, per the Natural Stone Institute Mohs ratings. Heat-safe and UV-safe.
  • Marble countertops ($50-$150/sqft) — unmatched elegance, higher maintenance. Best in bathrooms and lower-traffic kitchens.

Pre-Installation Prep Checklist

A little preparation makes installation day smooth. Here's what we ask homeowners to handle before the crew arrives:

  1. Cabinets installed, level, and secured. Countertops need a finished base. If cabinets are being replaced, they go in before we template.
  2. Clear the countertops and lower cabinets. Remove small appliances, dishes, and anything stored under the sink.
  3. Clear a path. Slabs are heavy and rigid — we need an unobstructed route from the driveway to the kitchen. Move furniture, rugs, and wall hangings in tight hallways.
  4. Disconnect plumbing and cooktops. Have your sink, faucet, disposal, and any gas cooktop disconnected before installation day (we can coordinate this if needed).
  5. Have your new sink and faucet on site. For undermount sinks, we mount the sink during installation, so it needs to be there.
  6. Plan for dust and noise. Seam polishing creates some dust. We contain it, but sensitive electronics nearby are worth covering.
  7. Keep pets and kids clear of the work area. For their safety and the crew's.

What to Expect on Installation Day

Most homeowners are surprised by how fast the final day goes. The crew arrives in the morning with your finished pieces, dry-fits everything first, then sets each piece with shims until the surface is dead level. Seams are joined with color-matched epoxy and polished flat — on a well-templated job, you'll have to hunt to find them.

For natural stone, we apply a final coat of sealer once the surface is set and cleaned. You can use your new countertops the same evening; we'll tell you how long to wait before reconnecting plumbing (typically 24 hours for the sink adhesive to cure).

We install across the entire valley — from Henderson master baths to Summerlin custom kitchens to new construction in North Las Vegas. Our crews use adhesives rated for desert temperature swings, because products that hold fine in mild climates can fail when a Las Vegas house interior shifts 30 degrees between seasons.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does countertop installation take in Las Vegas?

The full process takes 7 to 10 business days from templating to installation. The installation day itself typically takes four to eight hours for a kitchen and two to four hours for a bathroom vanity. Complex projects with waterfall edges or multiple rooms can add a few days to fabrication.

How much does countertop installation cost in Las Vegas?

Countertop installation in Las Vegas costs $40 to $150 per square foot installed, depending on material. Granite starts at $40/sqft, Quartz at $50/sqft, and Quartzite at $60/sqft. A typical 40-square-foot kitchen runs $1,600 to $6,000 total, including templating, fabrication, standard edge profile, installation, and initial sealing.

Do I need to remove my old countertops first?

No. We offer professional removal and disposal for $200 to $500, depending on material and size. Many homeowners bundle removal with installation so the whole swap happens in one day. If you'd rather demo them yourself to save money, that works too — just have it done before installation day.

Can I use my kitchen during the countertop installation process?

Mostly, yes. Between templating and installation day (7-10 business days), your old countertops stay in place and fully usable. On installation day, the kitchen is a work zone, and your sink will be out of commission for about 24 hours while the undermount adhesive cures.

Do you install countertops you didn't fabricate?

Our installation is part of our fabrication process — template, cut, and install as one calibrated workflow. That's how we can stand behind the fit. We don't install stone purchased from other fabricators, but we're happy to quote your project start to finish; in most cases our all-in price is competitive with piecing it together.
